What You’ll Learn
Most barrel horses don’t struggle with the pattern because they’re bad at barrels. They struggle because the foundation was never correctly instilled, and as a result, the horse—and almost always the rider—was never really educated. Putting a horse on the barrel pattern isn’t about the pattern at all. If we don’t fully understand how a horse learns to ride correctly, the horse is left guessing and we are left frustrated. Guessing creates confusion, anxiety, and inconsistency, which often gets mislabeled as resistance or lack of talent.
I don’t believe in patterning a horse so they memorize where to put their feet. That’s rote work, and rote work doesn’t create understanding or a thinking horse. I’m not teaching a horse the pattern—I’m teaching a horse how to ride, and the pattern takes care of itself. When a horse is educated to stay balanced, organized, and responsive, the barrel pattern stops being something they survive and becomes something they can confidently execute.
The Barrel Pattern Blueprint
This course shows exactly what that education looks like. You’ll watch a real horse learn across 15 filmed days on the pattern, with intentional dry-work days in between, so you can see how that foundation is built instead of forced. This isn’t about shortcuts or drilling. It’s about developing a horse that understands their job, trusts the process, and can think under pressure. Included with your purchase is one full month inside the membership, so you can see how this approach fits into the bigger picture of correct, thoughtful training.
