Life Lessons from the Horse

This mare here, I’ve never picked at her. Never ever. Ever never. She can do no wrong.
I’ve never said a negative word about her.
She’s been my pride and joy since she was born.

And you know what I’ve learned from never saying anything negative about her?

The relationship is pure. It’s unadulterated. It’s honest. I’ve never even thought a cross thought about her. She’s the most perfect, prettiest, best-est girl in the whole world, as far as I’m concerned.

You know where I’m going with this right?

If you don’t, here’s the short answer: if we never speak ill of anyone, and never think a cross thought, our relationships are better. They’re more pure. More honest. And that in turn makes you a more comfortable person to be around. And if you’re a better person, so is the world.

We all know someone that finds our weakness(es) and attempts to exploit them: sometimes they may even think they’re being funny. But if it’s a weakness, or a trouble spot for you, do you need to have it made fun of? Do you need to have people in your life that make fun of that? I dare say no. But sometimes we don’t get to choose the people we must be exposed to.

If we never speak ill of anyone, and never think a cross thought, our relationships are better. They’re more pure. More honest. And that in turn makes you a more comfortable person to be around. And if you’re a better person, so is the world.

So, instead of worrying about the unaware folks that may or may not be in my life, I’m gonna continue to let Cosmo teach me how to be a better human. And I’m going to do my level best to make sure the lesson sinks in.
