Over the course of the next four weeks, I’m going to share with you, the basics of collection. This series will show you where I start, and how I progress. As we delve further into collection, I’ll show you how this relates to the barrel pattern.
I need to start by saying this: I believe with my whole being that a solid foundation on horse begins on the ground. Now I know, groundwork isn’t for everyone. I know not everyone enjoys it, but I will tell you this: love it or hate it, it’s what I’ve found to be a non-negotiable. Every horse I’ve ever had the privilege to re-start, has had holes in their foundation. I don’t know about you, but I don’t want a hole in the foundation of my house. And I certainly don’t believe we can have a solid horse without a solid foundation.
So without further ado, let’s let Luna show you what some rough groundwork looks like. I’ll post more groundwork videos with horses that are farther along. And rest easy, I’ll make a follow up video of Luna-Lou as well.
I hope you found this video useful. Stay tuned, there’s more to come!
